‘Sharing Knowledge’ - Institute conferences and seminars

Don Henry

The La Trobe Institute for Social and Environmental Sustainability engages with its community with a range of scholarly activities, including a lunchtime seminar series during semester, an academic symposium and business forum (annual events) and our working paper series.

In addition, Institute staff conduct research; are involved in professional development activities; write, publish, and sit on review panels for journals;  present papers at conferences and workshops; consult to other organisations; and disseminate new knowledge to policy makers and the wider community.

We also work with the Principal Research Fellow – Education for Sustainable Development who works on a range of projects aimed at advancing the inclusion of knowledge and insight about sustainability within the curriculum at La Trobe University, both within and across faculties.

Speakers at these events have included; David Karoly, Richard Barrett, Don Henry, Geoff Scott and Roger Parish.

Academic Symposium and Business Forum

The La Trobe Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability) and the Institute for Social and Environmental Sustainability conduct an annual Academic Symposium and Business Forum.

Sustainability Lunchtime Seminar Series

The Institute runs a Lunchtime Seminar Series each semester. We invite speakers from a range of sustainability backgrounds and organisations, to reflect on working across disciplines in sustainability research and practice to solve complex problems.
