Arts and Communication/Law

The Bachelor of Arts degree allows you to create a customised course that focuses on your area of study, which should align with your interests, ambitions and passions. This degree will equip you with the skills you need to succeed in the ever-evolving employment market. Come to this workshop to experience what our course can offer you.

Picture a lawyer: what do you see? Suit and tie sitting behind a desk? Think again! Come to the Law workshop and discover that it's not all offices and briefcases, but a degree and career that can allow you to work anywhere, from your local community legal clinic to the International Court of Justice."

Business

Business for a flexible future: Studying business can take you to some surprising places. Ever thought about how accounting can help expose criminals? Or what really influenced you to buy those skinny jeans last week? So you're into sport, or travel, or floristry? These industries need business-minded people too. Find out more about the different specialisations on offer, ways to combine business with some of your other passions and how a business degree can equip you for a fantastic career in today's unpredictable and rapidly changing society.

Nursing and Midwifery

Gain an understanding of some of the skills required by nurses in clinical practice. Experience a simulated clinical ward environment, where you can take part in caring for a ‘sim’ patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a registered nurse.

They can assist individuals, families and communities, change policies and develop programs. You can make a real difference with social work, come and find out how at our workshop.

Allied Health

If you have a desire to improve the quality of life of people as individuals, families, groups and community, you might wish to consider completing the Bachelor of Applied Science. Discover the many important careers on offer in the exciting fields of occupational therapy, public health, health promotion, assessment and rehabilitation through physiotherapy or speech pathology. Find out more about the different specialisations on offer and ways to combine Allied Health with some of your other passions.

An Insider's Guide to La Trobe

Designed for students and parents, this session covers information on the support services available to new university students, including academic skills and wellbeing. You will get to hear from the Shepparton Student Association (SSA) on all things social. Our students will share what life is really like at our Shepparton campus.

Campus Tour

Take a tour of the campus with the people who know it best – our students! They’ll show you the library, into the Clinical Learning Unit (CLU) and through each of the buildings. This is your chance to ask our students what they really think of studying at our campus.

IT, Science and Psychology

Information Technology (IT) professionals work with people and technology. They find out what is required, then design and build a solution and keep it running. There are many different IT careers; in this workshop have a taste of one possible IT career by building a small system. The system is constructed using easy to assemble electronic components. A small program is then developed that allows the system to sense what is happening around it and control the hardware. Discover different IT courses and find the one for you.

The psychology of decision making: Deciding on a future university course or occupation is difficult! Luckily psychologists have investigated the science of decision-making and discovered some basic principles that can help. In this interactive workshop we will explore the types of psychological processes involved in making decisions and how these can be applied to course and occupation selection. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of the science of decision-making, as well as a glimpse of what studying psychology at university might be like.
