- have previously satisfied VCE or its equivalent – this includes the International Baccalaureate*; or
- are current or previous Australian tertiary students (this includes TAFE study judged post-Year 12); or
- are current or previous tertiary students with overseas qualifications deemed to be equivalent to minimum entrance requirements.
*Any qualifications recognised by VTAC as equivalent to the VCE or awarded a statement of equivalency from the Victorian Board of Studies meet Normal Entry requirements.
If you’re not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent Australian resident, contact La Trobe International for information about studying at La Trobe as an international student.
Extra requirements
In addition to meeting Normal Entry or Special Entry requirements, you must satisfy any special requirements of the specific course(s) for which you receive an offer. These may include prerequisite VCE studies, folio presentation, supplementary information or vaccinations/clearances for clinical or professional placements. If you don’t satisfy the relevant extra requirements you may not gain selection, even if you have high academic results.
If you're required to attend an interview or to supply additional information, you'll need to demonstrate a range of attributes. These might include personal motivation, relevant experience, and/or an understanding of the course and its aims.
If you're required to submit a folio of artwork, you should present the work you feel best represents your ideas and abilities, and demonstrates originality, imagination and experimentation as well as competence in the basic skills required in your chosen course.
