Subject outline

Illustration 2 aims to develop a way of seeing, and the interpretation of visual stimuli through the creation of stylised drawings suitable for graphic reproduction. This unit of study aims to equip the student with an understanding, through practical application, of the variety of approaches and techniques that can be taken when considering illustration for communication. This unit expects a high degree of technical proficiency, a high standard of construction, quality of imagery and a professional attitude to output and presentation. Project briefs encourage creative and individual interpretation in the service of a defined media application: book cover, editorial page, poster or print.
