Subject outline

This is the second of two subjects that introduce students to the study of theory and processes of photography as a personal, expressive, flexible visual medium. Digital and analogue capture and production technologies are investigated as a foundation for observational photography. Practical assignment work and folio production are supported by individual research and written work investigating historical and contemporary theoretical positions and a variety of expressive modes. Group workshop projects and activities occur on and off campus. Students are encouraged to participate in regular group gallery visits to Melbourne. A DSLR camera is required.
