PARTICIPATORY FIELD PLACEMENT

PHE3PFP

2018

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject, students undertake a practice-based placement, either in a relevant external organisation or agency, or internally at La Trobe University. This allows students to engage in approved tasks designed to achieve specific learning objectives relating to continuous and life-long learning in a service-teaching mode. The aim of the subject is to give students an opportunity to integrate theoretical concepts, in a supervised setting, to expand relevant skills, knowledge and attitudes. This might be in the area of project development and implementation, for example. The seminar series accompanying the placement seeks to orient students to practical concerns of a work environment and to gain a broad perspective about potential employment possibilities.
