Subject outline
In this subject, students will learn about ethics, law and management in the Australian context, and how they will influence, or be the focus of, their practice as health professionals. An understanding of ethics, law and management pertaining to the fields of health care and public health is important for students studying in diverse professional areas including health promotion, public health, allied health, paramedicine, nursing, dentistry, occupational health and environmental health. Using contemporary resource materials, case studies and online peer to peer discussions, students will develop an understanding of fundamental concepts in the fields of ethics, law and management; gain experience in researching and discussing ethical, legal and managerial aspects of their practice as health professionals; and acquire basic skills in fundamental areas of management and in applying ethical principles.

Eleven 3.0 hours unscheduled online class per study period on weekdays during the day from week 31 to week 43 and delivered via online.
"Weekly activities include: readings and video content; answering questions related to set readings, newspaper articles or video material; generating content from set readings; discussing content with peers in online fora; posting and discussing opinions on issues; and online quizzes."
