Subject outline

This subject is an extension of Movement Studies 1 (EDU2MS) and provides an alternative to traditional Physical Education (PE) programmes. Since games and sports represents a large proportion of PE programmes within Australia, an appropriate understanding of current trends surrounding the teaching of games that are suitable for children of varying ages is important for pre-service teachers in order to enhance student learning. Subsequently, this subject is designed to introduce pre-service teachers to the educational benefits of student-designed games by integrating different models of PE through creative and innovative projects.
