Subject outline
This unit provides an introduction to the engineering processes involved in the production of potable water and the treatement of wastewaters. Topics covered include: the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of raw water supplies (surface water and groundwater) and wastewaters, unit processes in water & wastewater treatment plants, design and modelling of wastewater treatment systems, constructed wetlands, remote wastewater systems, and wastewater disposal /reuse.
