Subject outline

In this subject you will explore the evolving role of business in society, and particularly the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Stakeholders. The subject examines the interdependence between the organisation and its wider environment. There is a growing emphasis on responsible business in many countries in the world today, creating new organizational risks and opportunities. You will be introduced to a variety of different perspectives on CSR, and investigate how CSR relates to the workplace, marketplace, community and ecological environment in which organisations operate. The subject is designed to help you understand CSR, apply that understanding in your own organisation, and gain an overview of how CSR can be effectively managed.
