Subject outline
In this subject students majoring in Politics are encouraged to reflect upon the discipline, consolidate their knowledge and skills and explore the practical application of these skills to the world beyond the university. Through a series of dynamic, action-oriented readings, lectures and seminars, students will survey, analyse and discuss different traditions, behaviours and practices in the discipline and the world of work. Topics covered include political communication (written, visual and oral), political leadership, negotiation, decision-making and political activism. Students will be assessed on a variety of activities and tasks including their ability to produce a piece of written political communication, a short piece of political analysis, lead an online group discussion, deliver a short oral presentation to your peers as well as various classroom based activities.
