Subject outline
In this subject students survey the international politics of the Northeast Asian region, including the role of the United States; the ascending position of China; the 'normalisation' of Japan; tension on the Korean peninsula; regional energy insecurity; regional environmental security; multilateral integration. Students will learn how foreign policy makers, states and non-state actors interact dynamically within the bounds of converging political, social, economic and enviornmental forces at the regional level.
