01. Evaluate the methodology used in DNA recombinant technology and application in biomedical research.

Activities:
Sequencing methodologies will be presented in lectures and reinforced in tutorials.Understanding will be assessed in the mid-semester and final examinations.

02. Combine the approaches used to sequence single genes and whole genomes and the methods used in genetic mapping.

Activities:
Sequencing methodologies will be presented in lectures and reinforced in tutorials. Understanding will be assessed in the mid-semester and final examinations.

03. Evaluate the methodology for the assessment of gene expression and their application in biomedical research.

Activities:
Methods for the assessment of gene expression will be presented in lectures and reinforced in tutorials. Understanding will be assessed in the mid-semester and final examinations.

04. Critically evaluate methodologies used for the separation, purification and identification of cellular proteins and determine the appropriate techniques for use in biomedical research.

Activities:
Protein purification methods and processes involved in assessing protein function will be presented in lectures and reinforced in tutorials. Understanding will be assessed in the mid-semester and final examinations.

05. Assess the impact of cutting edge biotechnological techniques in medicine and the environment.

Activities:
