PHOTOJOURNALISM 2

VPA1PJ2

2017

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

Photojournalism 2 builds on the student's capacity to build visual narratives, moving away from the 'found' photograph to create the 'constructed' photograph. The conceptual and aesthetic aspects of the genre are extended by assignments that reflect these 'constructed' concerns and enhance the student's ability to work to a specific client brief. Studio Lighting is introduced and explored. The student continues to build to understanding in the multi-layered complexity of a successful photographic image, both in 'reading' that image and in the creation of it.
