STC3WIA

2017

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject studies professional and creative writers in action through engaging students as participants in a regional writers festival. There will be three phases within this subject: the pre-event phase where the students are introduced to key concepts, topics and skills, and are supported in devising their project and planning to engage with the writers festival; the event, providing students with an immersion experience where they attend the festival with a specific program of activities in mind in order to support their project; the post-event response, where the student completes their project using the information and experience gained through the event. This is a block mode subject, occurring over a 5 day block in the region where the festival is being held.
