Subject outline
In this subject, students develop an understanding of project management frameworks and an ability to apply project management skills in health information systems and services. Students develop a health information related project concept and a plan for implementation and evaluation, using appropriate tools and software. The content of health service contracts will be also addressed, including contract requirements and specifications for health technology applications, external service providers, and health service and health fund agreements.

01. Apply project management theory, principles and skills to the conceptualisation, development, and implementation of health information and health informatics/health ICT systems, using appropriate frameworks and tools.

Students will develop skills in project management documentation and software for an individual health information management/informatics project, including a 'Statement of Work' and a 'Work Breakdown Structure'..

02. Assess new health information system or service implementations and identify opportunities for improvement and change.

03. Demonstrate skill in the development of specifications and requirements for health technology and service-related contracts and health service agreements.
