Subject outline
ABS3EAV is a popular residential one week intensive block (3 - 8 December) on-site in Shepparton and Barmah. Students are required to attenda compulsory introductory lecture day on 13 November 2017 which will be a live online lecture to all campuses. This subject will introduce students to a wide range of Aboriginal topics that relate to Shepparton and surrounding areas. Delivery will be blended with online and face to face lectures and assessments. ABS3EAV will cover discipline subject areas relating to history, archaeology,sociology, anthropology and politics. Through oral history, narrative and community engagement students will gain an understanding of historical and contemporary Aboriginal society and culture. In addition, students will have a On Country experience, which involves travel to the Barmah Forest to meet and hear from representatives of the local Aboriginal community.

"There are two parts to this subject: an Introduction Day (13th November 2017) and an Intensive Week Block in December. The Introduction Day will be held at each campus. The Intensive week block will be in Shepparton. All students will have to travel to Shepparton for the Week Block. Students will need to attend the Introduction Day at their own campus for their first lectures, first assignment and be briefed on the Intensive Week Block to be held at Shepparton campus."
