This subject introduces students to concepts, theories and terminology involved in an academic study of tourism, hospitality and events. It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the tourism and hospitality industry in Australia. It provides students with an awareness of the breadth of the industry and of the interests and activities it encompasses. Students examine various components of the industry, with a particular focus on the nature of its organisation and the sort of data and information it generates. This subject provides a foundation for students to make informed choices about future subjects and potential career options.
