This series of seminars analyses a number of frequently occurring neurological and psychiatric diseases with respect to their pathophysiological basis, their clinical presentation, their neuropsychological signature as wellas the pharmacological and physical treatment approaches taken to them. The material will be analysed from the molecular to the systemic level and will characterise the unique features of each conditon which will act as the focus for psycholohical and pharmacological intervention.

Interpret neuroimaging data arisng from studies of individuals with major psychiatric disorders.

02. Understand the relationship between neuropsychological deficit as it pertains to the major psychiatric disorders.

Activities:
Consideration of case material from assessments conducted with individuals with major psychiatric disorders.

03. Develop knowledge of the relationship between major brain sytems, their alteration as a consequence of pharmacologicl intervention and the implication of the combined effect of these to individuals with major psychiatric disorders.

Activities:
Examination of the mechanisms of action of the drugs and physical treatements used to treat psychiatric disoder and consideration of their implication for the functioing of the neural circuitry.
