Subject outline

In this four-week subject, students will build on their work in earlier undergraduate research subjects, such as OCT2IEP, enabling honours students to gain advanced skills relating to academic writing and the design and conduct of research using quantitative and qualitative methodologies in occupational therapy research. Students will undertake an investigative study that can involve a clinical case study, survey, other study using a quantitative or qualitative methodology, or a theory paper. The study should have the potential to contribute to knowledge in the discipline. Students will be supervised by staff members with expertise in their area of investigation and will design and prepare an ethics proposal for a research study to be carried out in OCT5HRS. Student involvement includes attendance and participation in practical sessions, monitoring lectures and practical classes in OCT5ERA, presentation and discussion at work-in-progress seminars.
