Subject outline
This subject describes the requirements to participate in a range of acute health environments and includes development of skill sets to develop individualised health care plans by collection of data captured during a client's preliminary and ongoing health assessments. Assessment is based on a lifespanapproach and incorporates performing wound assessment and management, contributing to work health and safety (WHS) processes and applying first aid and infection control policies. Taught in conjunction with other vocational nursing competencies.

04. Apply the principles of ANTT to wound management. Respond to the special health requirements of a patient with a wound. Perform a detailed wound management assessment. Contribute to wound care plan development highlighting the types of dressings required and the underlying principles for the use of wound dressings.
