Subject outline

This unit comprises more advanced lectures and training in research. There are no formal or set experiments. Each student is required at the beginning of the course to choose the area of chemistry in which they wish to undertake a research investigation. A variety of lecture topics are offered across a wide range of subjects for example; mass spectrometry, chemical sensors, electrochemistry, NMR, mechanistic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and organometallic synthesis. Brochures will be supplied by the Department giving full details of all units offered.
