Subject outline

In this subject students are introduced to the principles of public and primary health care in their social, political and economic contexts. Building on the knowledge of social determinants from PHE1SDH, students develop a deeper understanding of behavioural, environmental, sociocultural, political and organizational factors that promote or comprise health. Students will also examine the strategies used in public health practice, in the context of public health frameworks, with a particular focus on community-based approaches to health enhancement.
