Subject outline
Students are introduced to liberal democracy and the major institutions and processes of the Australian political system including the constitutional framework, the parliament, the Prime Minister and the High Court. We will also examine the impact of the media on Australian politics, the changing nature of the party system, and controversial issues such as freedom of speech and inequality.
