Subject outline

Students will focus on developing their knowledge, skills and practice in land use and environmental planning, urban design and project management. Using a series of practical case studies, urban strategic planning and design exercises and working in groups and individual modules, students take a leading role in developing plans and designs for urban and regional development. Attention in the subject is given to resolving competing land uses and establishing projects that deliver net community benefit. This subject includes a number of joint classes, group projects and exercises with students enrolled in PLA3PPB. Students in this subject or in PLA3PPB participate on a bi-annual basis in a study tour to a major Australian city to study its planning and development
