Subject outline
In this subject students explore ways of knowing and thinking about the world through screen and sound media. Students will evaluate the power of concepts such as frame, window, door, mirror and brain to explain the spectator's relation to real and imaginary worlds on screen. Through viewing and listening exercises, students will investigate how moving images and soundscapes 'think' and make us think. Students will develop projects from a range of topics, such as: virtual reality and avatars; mind-game and puzzle films; CGI and 3-D worlds; subjective and objective viewing and listening and explore of web-based strategies for publishing work.
