Subject outline

In this unit, students examine the theory and practice of the law relating to the transfer of rights in information and other intangibles. In particular, students examine the structure and negotiation of downstream and upstream licensing mechanisms in the context of product development, multimedia, software, merchandising, university technology transfer, government contracts, financing, litigation, taxation, bankruptcy, and antitrust.
