In this unit, students will seek to address the overall question: why do we have to worry about health risks from the enviroment? Sustainability has become the short-hand expression for the long-term social and economic changes required to re-establish global ecological integrity, the foundation for the planet's life-suport systems, thus also of the health of the human population.
