Subject outline

This subject complements and extends learning from introductory research methods subjects. It investigates, in further detail, the quantitative methods commonly used in health research. You will examine a range of quantitative study designs to develop skills in critical appraisal of quantitative research and skills that will prepare you for designing, conducting and analysing quantitative research in future studies and professional activities. You will examine basic statistics including, descriptive and inferential statistics, and become familiar with statistical analysis packages to analyse a set of quantitative data. No prior statistical knowledge is required. This subject will be delivered using a range of online learning activities complemented by face-to-face workshops.
