Subject outline
In this subject, students are introduced to the principles underpinning health information systems as the foundations of health information management. Systems for capturing health information on individual patients and the application of recording methodologies and standards are introduced. The uses of aggregate data are studied in relation to information systems, information flow, data quality and uses for patient care, evaluation, and the planning, funding and monitoring of health service provision.
