Subject outline
In this subject, students will undertake a period of 20 days teaching in their method area(s) within Years 5 - 9 in Australian schools or alternative settings under the supervision of a qualified teacher. They will engage in self-evaluation, reflection, formal and informal discussion and consultation regarding teaching practice and associated skills. Students will be expected to produce lesson-plans which reflect an ability to articulate clear aims, objectives, procedural steps, outcomes and evaluation procedures. Lesson plans and other written work and documentation will be contained in a portfolio which will contribute to the assessment for this subject. All students are required to participate in pre-placement learning activities and post-placement debriefing activities.
