Subject outline
In the context of meeting the needs of individuals and society this subject is aimed at extending students' experiences with and knowledge of technologies, design, materials and systems. Participants prepare to teach (i) the Design Creativity and Technology Domain of VELS (Victorian Essential Learning Standards); and (ii) Design and Technology, Food Technology and Systems Engineering VCE Study Designs. The subject includes the development and deeper understandings of the principles of OH&S and the critical importance of creating a safe Technology classroom environment. Students cover the development of design skills, knowledge and understanding of good design, and the design process whilst nurturing creativity and innovation through designing and making.
