La Trobe University is a safe and dynamic place to study for international students. We have a strong reputation for offering high quality education and support services for international students.
Coming to a new country usually requires a period of adjustment. So, La Trobe has a dedicated International Student Services (ISS) team. It provides advice, support and information to help you adjust to life and study in Australia.
Before you come
Before arriving in Australia, we recommend you visit the La Trobe International website. It has important information on preparing to come to Australia and services to help you, like airport reception and temporary accommodation.
We also recommend you read through My Life at La Trobe (PDF 2.69MB). It's a comprehensive guide that will help you prepare for coming to Australia and settling in to life at La Trobe.
When to come
You must arrive in Australia in time to attend the International Welcome Festival and Enrolment, then attend University Orientation. The Orientation program helps you to make the most of university life and succeed during your time at La Trobe. Further details are on your Orientation Planner.
Support while you're here
Throughout your time at La Trobe, you're welcome to continuously seek advice, information and support from the International Student Services (ISS) team. We can help you with academic, social, financial and cultural issues.
The ISS team also runs many social events and programs where you can make new friends with domestic and other international students. To enhance your experience in Australia, the University provides many other opportunities to actively engage in various cultural groups and local communities.
