Academic Integrity Module (AIM)

study-pairLa Trobe’s staff are committed to ensuring you have the information, skills and tools required to succeed in your studies.  For example, to succeed at La Trobe, you will need to know and understand what this University means by the terms academic integrity, academic misconduct, plagiarism, and cheating.  This will include learning and demonstrating skill in citing and referencing sources.

Even if you have studied at tertiary level before, you will need to understand La Trobe’s expectations and policies – and your responsibilities as a member of this academic community.  Therefore, all commencing students will be enrolled in a version of AIM which is accessed via the Learning Management System (LMS).

AIM will guide you through your responsibilities; provide examples of academic misconduct; and show you where to find useful information and examples of referencing styles specific to your course.  It will also lead you to other useful information such as the Academic Referencing Module and Academic Referencing Tool provided by the Library where many great resources exist.

Update - 16/05/2012

Did you start your Undergraduate degree in 2012?

If so, you are probably enrolled in the Academic Integrity Module (either MGT1AIM; HLT1AIM; EDU1AIM; HUM1AIM; or SCI1AIM) which you must complete prior to the end of semester or you will receive a fail grade which will appear on your transcript.

This AIM subject can be found on the LMS and will not take too much of your time to complete.

To complete AIM you must achieve at least 8/10 on the ‘Final Quiz’ and you must answer the ‘Statement of Student Responsibility Quiz’.  If you have not yet passed AIM and need to do so then you will have received at least one reminder email to your LTU Email Account.  Please check your LTU Email Account and if you have not yet passed AIM, please go back in and complete AIM by the end of Semester.

Further information is provided in the Information Sheet for Students and can be found at by visiting the Academic Integrity website.
