Register and enrol
Registration
As soon as possible after your arrival, we ask you to visit La Trobe International to fill out a simple registration form. You must also bring in your passport and student visa (a printout is fine if you have been issued an E-visa).
At LTI we will provide you with useful on-arrival information about the Welcome Festival, your enrolment details and information relevant to newly arrived students. Download a campus map to make finding us easier.
For further details, please check out the Important dates (PDF 178KB).
Enrolment
Enrolment is when you formally register in your course. This takes place during the orientation period. The process generally includes a Faculty-based information session followed by discussions with course advisors, subject selection and enrolment into subjects.
To find out more about the enrolment process and your Enrolment and Orientation information (PDF 207KB).
The guide also contains information on:
- How do I apply for Advanced Standing (Credit) for previous study?
- What if I need more information about my course?
- Can I change my course?
- What if I am going to arrive after enrolment?
- What if I enrol then change my mind about studying?
- How do I change my university/institution?
- What if my first language is not English?
- Am I a Study Abroad or exchange student?
- Am I a sponsored student?
- How will I receive U.S. Financial Aid funds?
After you have completed your enrolment your La Trobe Card (student identification card) is created. The La Trobe Card is a smartcard i.e. you can store data on it, borrow from the library, pay for photocopying, or purchase a parking ticket.
