Albury-Wodonga Pre-departure Checklist

We recommend you plan to arrive in Australia at least a few days before the Welcome and Orientation program commences. This allows sufficient time to register your arrival with the International Office and to search for and/or settle into your accommodation, before activities begin.

Have you returned the following forms?
What to bring with you:
  • Valid passport containing a current student visa
  • Letter of Offer and Acceptance Form from La Trobe University 
  • Receipts for any payments made to the University 
  • Letter of award of scholarship (if applicable) 
  • Other official identification (for example: drivers licence, national ID card, etc)
  • Any medical records (particularly of immunisations) necessary medication/prescriptions 
  • Australian currency for when you first arrive 
  • A jacket or jumper (sweater) packed in your hand luggage in case it is cold
Before you leave home, why not:

  • Listen to Australian radio eg. via the Internet or Radio Australia
  • Read Australian books, newspapers, magazines (many available online as well as hard copy) to keep up to date on current affairs
  • Inform yourself about Albury-Wodonga Campus
  • Find information about the two cities of Albury and Wodonga - you may like to look at these websites: 
  • Explore publications and websites on Australian society and culture 
  • Introduce yourself to Australian educational culture via publications such as B Ballard and J Clanchy's book Studying in Australia, published by Longman Cheshire, Melbourne, 1988
