How to defer your offer
If you are going to defer you do not need to enrol.
How to defer
- Local applicants must complete an official letter of deferral which can also be found on page 25 in the Enrolment Guide.
- International students must send a written request.
- Single subject enrolments – please contact your faculty directly for instructions.
Who can defer?
Undergraduate
Six month deferral for mid-year commencement is allowed for all Bachelor degree courses within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law; the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering.Six month deferral is not available for students in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Education.
One year deferral is allowed in all Bachelor degree courses in all Faculties.
Two year maximum deferral is allowed in all Bachelor degrees in all Faculties.
Postgraduate
Six month deferral for mid-year commencement is allowed in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (with the exception of the Masters of Business Administration MBA).Six month deferral is not available in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering; Faculty of Health Sciences; and the Faculty of Education.
One year deferral is allowed in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. One year deferral is also allowed in the following courses: Faculty of Health Sciences: Graduate Entry M Occupational Therapy (HMOTPB, HMOTH) M Podiatric Practice (HMPOB, HMPOD), M Social Work (HMSKW, HMZKB) HMSK, HMSKM) and Faculty of Education: Graduate Entry Teaching courses.
Two year deferral is not available for any postgraduate courses for any faculty.
