Peer Mentoring Program

Gain valuable skills like cross cultural communication, group facilitation and networking and make yourself more employable, while helping the university community.
The Peer Mentoring Program is aimed at assisting new international students studying within the Faculty of Law and Management, where they will be matched with a group of up to three other students, and two mentors, one local student and one international student. These mentoring groups will provide support and advice to new international students on topics such as:
- How to navigate the website
- Reading the timetable
- Making friends
- Understanding Melbourne and the Australian culture
- Knowing where to get academic assistance
- Finding student support centres around campus
- Getting around campus
- Finding work
In addition to the informal meetings, students will also be required to attend three compulsory sessions.
By participating in this program, you will be gaining valuable skills like cross cultural communication, group facilitation, networking and you will receive full training, a certificate of participation and a personal reference.
Recruitment for Mentors is now open. To apply, please read the Job Description and fill in the Application form. Local students are encouraged to apply as mentors!
Please note the mentor positions are voluntary, however training will be provided to the mentors and each participant will receive a certificate of participation as well as a reference.
