Academic Language and Learning staff work closely with teaching staff to develop the academic speaking, writing, reading, and numeracy skills required for successful learning for students.

Support services for students

The Academic Language and Learning Unit can help you with your academic success through:

Individual consultations

  • Ask your lecturer to refer you
  • Ask the ALLU staff directly
  • Your lecturer may refer you if he/she thinks it would be of benefit .

Drop-in sessions

  • ALLU staff will be available at advertised times.
  • Drop in with your essay drafts or assignment questions.

Group workshops

Regular timetabled, faculty based workshops can help you with specific skills needed to pass assessments

Groups or teams can request a special consultation for help with projects and reports

Skills subject

Academic Skills for Tertiary Studies (EDU1ASA) in semester one, particularly for Diploma of Arts or Diploma of Business students

Student to Student Learning Advisors are also available to provide support.
