About the ALLU
We work closely with teaching staff in all faculties and campuses to ensure that La Trobe students develop the high–level speaking, writing, reading, and numeracy skills required for successful academic learning.
To achieve these ends, we research and advise in the field of academic language and learning. We provide:
- workshops
- drop- in sessions
- individual consultations

We:
- teach undergraduate and postgraduate subjects
- collaborate with discipline staff on course and subject design
- advise on teaching and learning strategies.
We also organise the Student Learning Adviser program (SLA) in the Library, and preparation programs such as the Introductory Academic Program for AusAid scholarship holders and the Smart Skills Program.
