At La Trobe University we use Blackboard Collaborate, a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

If it is intended that you are to engage with your lecturer and peers in a VLE, you lecturer will communicate (via email or the LMS) a URL or web page where you can log in. 

Assistance with the VLE

For academic assistance (for example if you have a question about your subject or expectations about your engagement in the VLE) you should contact your lecturer or tutor. Contact details for staff members are available from faculty websites.

At least one day before your first session using the VLE, point a browser to the Blackboard Collaborate support site to test that your system is compatible for use with the VLE.

When conducting your tests, ensure that you are using the computer on which you will ‘attend’ your session. To take full advantage of the collaborative functions, you should use a headset with microphone.
