Proxy settings

When a web browser downloads a web page or file the local proxy server saves a copy of that resource. If someone else wants to access that same web page or file the proxy server delivers its local copy. The proxy server stores file copies for approximately three days. If you want to by-pass the proxy server to make sure you've got the latest version of a webpage simply click on the "Reload" or "Refresh" button in your browser.

When using the Virtual Private Network (VPN) or La Trobe Wireless, you need to enable the La Trobe proxy server in order to browse external web sites.
