Work Placements provide a chance to add to the knowledge you develop while at University, gain insight into an occupation and industry, develop your professional and personal skills, and set you apart from other job candidates.

Volunteering

Volunteering placements are done through the La Trobe Award - 30 WR points.

Work Experience, Internships, Cadetships

Work placement needs to be related to your course discipline

  • 60 hours in a year – 30 WR points
  • 40 hours in a year – 20 WR points
  • 20 hours in a year – 10 WR points

Prior work placement – 10WR points (If undertaken in the past 12months)

Current employment

  • 60 hours in a year – 30 WR points
  • 50 hours in a year – 20 WR points
  • 30 hours in a year – 10 WR points

Prior employment – 10WR points (If undertaken in the past 12months)

Students earning Work Ready points through employment will need to attend a career workshop facilitated by the Career Development unit.
