Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to have your work experience recognised, and gain credit for what you have learnt in the workplace.

If you believe you have relevant previous work experience in a subject offered within your course (either core or elective subjects), you should:

  1. Obtain a copy of the subject/s details from the subject database that you believe you have completed as part of your previous work experience.
  2. Take these details and any relevant work documents demonstrating the skills outlined in the subject content to the coordinator of that subject.
  3. The coordinator of the subject will then assess and advise you and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Office in writing that Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is being approved. This memo will include any actual subject codes that are directly being credited from RPL or might be listed as year level unspecified or as a year level within the discipline.
