Changing subjects

You can add and withdraw from subjects via StudentOnLine.

You will need to check for any prerequisites if you are enrolling in a planned subject on StudentOnLine.

Prerequisite information is in the subject database.

If you have NOT met the prerequisites you will need to gain academic approval from the subject coordinator. Subject coordinator contact details are in the subject database. You will need to submit a completed Variation of Enrolment form with your subject coordinator’s approval to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Administration Office in order to enrol in the subject.

Ensure that all subjects are ENROLLED and not PLANNED. A planned subject is NOT enrolled. You can confirm your enrolment by clicking Current Enrolment while logged into StudentOnLine under the My Enrolment tab. After you enrol in a subject via StudentOnLine it can take up to two days for the subject to update in the LMS. If you cannot view a subject in the LMS it is very likely you are not correctly enrolled in the subject.

Subjects will be listed in the LMS one week prior to the semester commencing.

Normally you cannot add subjects online after the second week of semester. After this point you will require academic approval to enrol in any subject. You will need to submit a Variation of Enrolment form with your subject coordinator’s approval to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Administration Office.

Important:

  • You must withdraw from subjects online before you can replace them.
  • If you have a fee sanction on your account which is barring your enrolment, find out what type of  fee sanction you have by viewing it on StudentOnLine. Visit the Sanctions page for more information including how and where to pay any outstanding fines.
