Australasian Survey of Student Engagement (AUSSE)
An engaged student knows and enhances the value of their education. Student engagement is an idea focused on how learners interact with university. Student engagement is increasingly seen as being important for high quality learning and education. The AUSSE survey helps universities measure the connection between the time and effort a student puts into their studies, and their overall grades, retention and satisfaction with their university.
Based on previous year’s results, La Trobe has worked hard to implement changes and improve our teaching, services and processes. Some of the changes AUSSE results have helped inform include:
- Curriculum renewal and review across all faculties
- First Year Experience which ensures better support and early feedback for new students
- Investing in opportunities for students to take part in co-curricula projects such as the La Trobe Award and Infinity Leadership Program to enhance employability
- Improving our service delivery and administrative processes through a review of Student Services and Student Administration
