Request student letters

If you require written notification or confirmation of details regarding your current or past studies at La Trobe University that is not available via your official academic transcript, you can request an official letter.

Requesting a letter

To request a letter, follow these steps:

  1. Download an application form (PDF 100KB).
  2. Complete the details requested in the application form, including:
    • your personal details
    • course of enrolment
    • specific details of what you need mentioned in the letter (view sample letters), including reasons for request
  3. Send your completed application form, along with the required fees (see below) to:
    • Cashiers Office
      Level 1, Thomas Cherry Building
      Melbourne Campus, La Trobe University VIC 3086

Fees

The charge for an official student letters is $30.00 for a 48-hour service.

If a student requires Academic Services to change the wording of the template, then Academic Services reserves the right to charge a higher rate - approximately $45.00.

Please note that there is no additional charge for multiple copies.
