Brief Profile
Marnie was appointed Work Integrated Learning Coordinator (Bundoora campus) in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law in April 2010. She has worked in the tertiary sector for nine years in a range of careers and recruitment focused positions. Marnie has experience working in the university, TAFE and dual sector environment with a variety of industry and teaching networks. She has also worked extensively with diverse student groups from within the secondary school, university and TAFE student cohort.
Working in an Employer Liaison support role for three years in Student Career Development at Victoria University (VU), Marnie developed an interest in the Human Resources and employment fields. A major component of the position involved strengthening the universities relationships with employers in order to increase the employment outcomes for students.
Marnie’s work in a dual sector tertiary environment led to a strong interest in careers education and curriculum pathways, which later resulted in her working as a Student Recruiter at VU. Further recruitment positions followed at both Monash and NMIT.

Brief Profile
Gail has both an extensive management and pastoral and welfare care background. This is due to a 20 year association in the dual sector educational environment of Swinburne University, TAFE and College working with academics and a diverse student community. Gail has held various roles at Faculty level and in Swinburne International, with the latter resulting in close working relationships with Swinburne TAFE, College and innumerable external stakeholders.
In the Faculty, Gail worked in a number of positions, including as team leader, managing the daily routine of a busy Postgraduate Office in addition to, coordinating and assisting in the overall establishment of Swinburnes’ first suite of housing management courses, offered in distance learning format.
Gail also worked in Swinburne International, first as an International Student Advisor for a period of 3 years, followed from 2002 as Manager, International Student Life, enthusiastically accepting the challenge of coordinating all provision of support to 5000+ international students. Together with assistance of her team, she delivered pastoral and welfare care, accommodation and recreation activities to international students, ensuring compliance with ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students) guidelines and, university rules and regulations across 5 campuses.
Event management is one of Gails’ strengths, having organised and managed Faculty Open Day, Postgraduate Information Evenings, Scholarship functions, Orientation, International Student Welcome Parties, AusAID related Spouse Programs, International Student Returning Home Programs.
Furthermore, Gails’ career spans some time working in the Victorian Public Service, in the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Human Resources, State Treasury as a Policy Analyst and, in Community Services Victoria, in the area of Home and Community Care. Preceding this, Gail was a trained nurse having worked in both Regional Victoria and in Melbourne. Prior to commencing at LaTrobe University in May 2010, Gail had been working for a period of 6 months with a Recruitment Agency with placements to Student Support at William Angliss and, to Swinburne University, Centre for Research, Business, Work and Ageing. She is a member of Swinburne and Deakin Alumni and of the professional associations ATEM, ACEN and WACE.
