Equality and Diversity Awareness program for staff
Promoting the understanding of human rights law and practice
The University and its staff have legal obligations to provide an equitable and non-discriminatory work and learning environment. The Equality and Diversity Awareness Program provides an interactive forum where staff can clarify issues and update their understanding and knowledge of equity matters. Topics include, cultural diversity, Indigenous Australian culture, disability, gender equity, harassment and discrimination.
Half day workshop and online training
The Equality and Diversity Awareness Program comprises of an introductory online component and one face-to-face workshop.
- The online component is an introduction to equity legislation and practical issues. The online component will take approximately 2 hours to complete and is to be completed within one month of commencing at La Trobe University and before attending the face-to-face workshop.
- The face-to-face workshop is an interactive session which includes discussions, scenarios and case studies and must be completed within 3 months of commencing at La Trobe University.
