Assistance with StudentOnLine
You will need your Username and Password to access StudentOnLine. These details were provided on your initial Statement of Account; however you may have changed them the first time you logged into StudentOnLine.
Please note, to log in to StudentOnLine the username must be in the following format: students\username.

Student IT Support is available from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Student IT Support is closed on public and University holidays.
The Bendigo Student IT support (SITS) is available to assist students from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on Fridays. SITS can be contaced on (03) 5444 7888 or in person at the Business Building, Room 1.28.
My Personal Details
In this section you will find the personal details that La Trobe University has recorded for you.
Your name, as it appears in 'Formal Name', is how your name will appear on all official documentation including your Testamur (degree certificate).
If any of these details are incorrect or have changed please contact your local Student Administration Office, by clicking on the hyperlink 'Request a modification to My Personal Details' and sending an email to the Student Administration Office. Any change or correction of name must be supported by original or certified documentation.
If you do not have an e-mail account set up on your computer, or if you are using a public computer, click on the La Trobe Links button at the top of the page and use the link to log in to your La Trobe University email account.

In this section you will find the contact details that La Trobe University has recorded for you, including:

My Address Details
On this page you can:
- View your address,
- Change your address,
- Add an address,
- Copy a selected address to another address type, or
- Change your preferred mailing address.
If you wish to change your address details follow the steps below:
- Select the address you wish to change.
- Click Change the selected Address, Add an Address, Copy the selected Address or Make this Preferred.
- You will be taken to a new screen called ADDRESS DETAILS: Change Details, where you can type your new address details directly into the fields provided; you can also indicate whether you want to make this address your Preferred Mailing address
. To complete the change click Save. - After you have clicked Save you will be taken to a new screen called Address Details: Search. This screen will show you all addresses that match the address you have typed. Pick the correct one and click 'Continue and Save the Selected address' or if your address is not there, click 'search for an address' until you have found the correct address.
- When you have confirmed the correct address you will be taken to a final screen where a green tick
will confirm that your address details have been successfully saved.
To change your preferred mailing address
select the address you wish to nominate and then click on the link 'Make the selected address my preferred mailing address'
If you wish to copy an existing address to a new address type:
- Select the address you wish to copy and click on the 'Copy the selected Address to another Address Type' link.
- Select the address you wish to copy to from the list on the next screen then click on 'Copy my address details to the selected address type'.
- You will be taken to a final screen where a green tick
will confirm that your action has been successfully completed.
Types of Address Explained
- Semester/Term
- Your address during semester.
- Home
- Your address during non-semester periods.
- Temporary preferred
- If you move for a short period of time for a placement etc during semester, you can enter a temporary preferred address (using a start and end date) and this will override your normal preferred mailing address.
- Postal
- If you wish to have correspondence sent to another address that is not your HOME or SEMESTER/TERM address, you should enter this address as your POSTAL address and make this your preferred mailing address.
My Phone Details
In this section you will find the phone details the university has recorded for you, including fax number, term phone, home phone, work phone, day phone (for APESMA students only) and mobile phone numbers.
If you wish to change a number, you need to:
- Select the phone number you wish to change.
- Click on the Change the selected Phone Number link. A new screen will open. Fill in the details. It is only necessary to provide a phone comment if you wish to advise the university of the most appropriate time to contact you via this number.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen, you will see a green tick
indicating that the change has been successful.
Please note, you can only have one of each type of phone number, any changes to existing types of numbers must be made by clicking on 'Change the selected phone number' and not by adding a new phone number.
If you wish to add a new type of phone number, you need to:
- Click on Add a phone number. A new screen will open.
- Select the type of phone number you wish to add from the drop down list.
- Type in the phone number and a comment if required. If you wish this to be your preferred contact number, tick the box marked 'I want to make this my preferred contact phone number.' And click on 'Save my Changes'
- You will see a green tick
indicating that your action has been successful.
My Email Details
You will not be able to change your La Trobe University email address or select a different Preferred Email Address type. The University will send all official email correspondence [PDF 50KB] to your La Trobe email address. It is your responsibility to ensure that you either check this address regularly, or set up a forwarding arrangement.
If you wish to add a personal email address, you need to:
- Click on Add an email. A new screen will open.
- Select the email type from the drop down menu
- Enter your new email address and save your changes.
- You will see a green tick
indicating that your action has been successful.
Please note, you can only have one personal email address recorded. If you wish to add another, you must first delete the original personal email address and then you can add a different email address.
My Disability Details
This page lists the disability details that La Trobe University has recorded for you.
If the details are not correct, or have changed, you can Change your Disability Details by completing the following steps:
- Click on the hyperlink 'Change my Disability details' and you will be taken to a new screen.
- Answer the question: Do you have a Disability, impairment or long term medical condition? by choosing 'yes' or 'no' from the drop down menu.
- Click on 'Save my disability details'. If you have chosen 'no' you will see a green tick to indicate that your change has been successful.
- If you have chosen 'yes' you will be taken to a new screen, and you will be asked to indicate by ticking a box which disability applies to you. You can make multiple selections if appropriate. You will also be asked to answer a question about receiving information regarding disability support services by choosing 'yes' or 'no' from a drop down menu. When you have made your choices click 'Save these Disability details'.
- You will see a green tick
indicating that your action has been successful.

My Citizenship and Residency Details
In this section you will see the citizenship and residency details that La Trobe University has recorded for you.

will appear indicating that your action has been successful.
You will be asked to re-confirm these details every 200 days to ensure that the information that La Trobe University has recorded for you is accurate and up to date.
If any of the details are incorrect, or have changed, please contact your local Student Administration Office by clicking on the link 'Request a modification to my citizenship and residency details' and sending an email to the Student Administration Office.
If you do not have an email account set up on your computer, or if you are using a public computer, click on the La Trobe Links button at the top of the page and use the link to log in to your La Trobe University email account.
When making changes to your citizenship or residency status, you will be asked to supply proof. If you are changing your citizenship you will need to supply a certified copy of your citizenship certificate. If you are changing residency, you will need to supply a certified copy of your passport including the page that contains your visa information.
My Cultural Details
On this page you will see the cultural details that La Trobe University has recorded for you.
The first time you log in you will be asked to confirm that the details that La Trobe University has recorded for you are correct. You can do this by clicking on the link 'Confirm the displayed details'. A green tick
will appear indicating that your action has been successful.
If the details are incorrect, you can click on the link 'Change my cultural details', you will be taken to another screen to update/correct your details. When you have made the required changes click on the link 'save the change to my cultural details'. You will see a green tick
indicating that your action has been successful.
You may be asked to re-confirm these details every 200 days to ensure that the information that La Trobe University has recorded for you is accurate and up to date.
My Educational Background Details
On this page you will see the educational background details that La Trobe University recorded for you at the commencement of your course. You do not need to update these details as you progress through your course.
If the details captured are not correct for the time at which you commenced your course, please contact your local Student Administration Office by clicking on the link 'Request a modification to educational background details' and sending an email to the Student Administration Office. You will need to supply certified copies of your educational attainment.
If you do not have an email account set up on your computer, or if you are using a public computer, click on the La Trobe Links button at the top of the page and use the link to log in to your La Trobe University email account.
The possible values that may be recorded for your Highest Level of Participation are as follows:

My Sanctions
A sanction is a penalty recorded against your enrolment. There are two types of sanctions: Academic – for unsatisfactory academic progress and Administrative – for failure to comply with certain administrative requirements (e.g. non payment of fees).
On this page you will see any sanctions which have been recorded against your enrolment. If you have no sanctions recorded against your enrolment you will see a message stating 'you have no viewable sanctions'.
Different types of sanctions will have different consequences for your enrolment. For details on removing any sanctions on your enrolment, please contact your local Student Administration Office.

My Documents
On this page you can view a list of the existing Student System issued documents that have been created and sent to you by La Trobe University.
After you have entered the search criteria for the document you are looking for, a list will appear. Some documents will be available to view again. Clicking on the View Attachments hyperlink will display the filename and Date of the attachment. You must then click on the link under File/Note Attachment to open or save the file.
If you do not enter any search criteria all documents for the period specified will be listed.
My Parent/Guardian Education Details: Overview
On this page you will see the parent / guardian education details that La Trobe University has recorded for you.
The first time you log in you will be asked to confirm that the details that La Trobe University has recorded for you are correct. You can do this by clicking on the link 'Confirm the displayed details'. A green tick
will appear indicating that your action has been successful.
If any of these details are incorrect, click on the 'Request a change to parent/guardian details' link and you can send an email to the Student Administration Office to request a change, or alternatively you can visit your local Student Administration Office to make the change.
If you do not have an email account set up on your computer, or if you are using a public computer, click on the La Trobe Links button at the top of the page and use the link to log in to your La Trobe University email account.
My Enrolment
On the My Enrolment tab you can:
- View your courses
- Manage your enrolment
- View your current enrolment
- Enrol in units
- Swap units
- Withdraw from units
Please note, it is your responsibility to monitor your enrolment requirements. For course advice please contact your Faculty course adviser.
View your courses
This page will show you the details of all courses you have an enrolment record for.
To view further details about any of your courses you need to select the radio button next to the course and then click on the link: I want to 'View my selected course details'.
You will be taken to a new screen where you can view the structure of your course.
Manage your enrolment
This page will show you the structure of your course/s and will allow you to enrol or withdraw from units.

View your current enrolment
This page will show you all the units for which you are currently enrolled.
Each time you make a change to your enrolment, you should confirm that your enrolment is correct by viewing your current enrolment page.
If you have been unable to make any changes to your enrolment or if your enrolment appears to be different to what you expected, please contact your Faculty for advice.
Enrol in units
This page will give you step by step instructions on how to enrol in a unit.
Core and planned unit enrolment
- On the My Enrolment tab, click on 'Manage Enrolment' link on the left hand side menu.
- If you have more than one course listed, select the relevant course and click on the link 'continue to next page'.
- Units which are available to you for enrolment will be shown in a shaded box. Click on the button to the right of the screen to enrol in an available unit, then click on the link at the bottom of the screen 'proceed to enrol'.
- You will be taken to a page listing all units you are about to enrol in. If the units are correct click on the link 'confirm enrolment' at the bottom of the page.
- You will see a green tick
to indicate that your enrolment has been successful. - You can now go to 'Current Enrolment' and view all of your enrolled units.
HINT: If a unit has a prerequisite you will need to successfully complete that before you can enrol in the unit. If the unit has a co-requisite, you will need to enrol in that unit as well.
HINT: If you cannot proceed with an action scroll to the top of the page and check to see if you have an error message.

To choose and enrol in an option
An option line contains choices that you must make to satisfy your course requirements.
- On the My Enrolment tab, click on 'Manage Enrolment' link on the left hand side menu
- If you have more than one course listed, select the relevant course and click on the link 'continue to next page'
- If you have options available for enrolment, they will be listed on this page. You can see what each option will involve by clicking on the link 'More details'.
- When you have found an option you wish to enrol in, click on the link 'Choose'.
- You will be taken to another screen with a search box. When searching for a unit you have three options: if you know the unit code of the unit you wish to enrol in, you can type the unit code into the Option box and then click 'Search'; if you know the first three letters of the unit code you can use the % as a wild card to help you narrow down your search, for example a first year history unit may be written HIS1%; or the select option rule may already be filled in, it may look like: ___1% this will search for any unit in first year. Click on 'Search'.
- You will be provided with a list of possible units to select from. You can only select one unit at a time. NOTE: you cannot enrol in a unit with a red cross
in the 'Availabilities' column. Choose a unit that does not have a red cross and click on the link 'Save unit onto my course plan'. - You will be taken back to your course plan. You can now enrol in your selected unit, which will be shaded in blue. Click in the box to the right of the unit, and then click on the link 'Proceed to enrol' at the bottom of the page.
- You will be taken to a page listing all units you are about to enrol in. If the units are correct click on the link 'confirm enrolment' at the bottom of the page.
- You will see a green tick
to indicate that your enrolment has been successful. - You can now go to 'Current Enrolment' and view all of your enrolled units.
HINT: If a unit has a prerequisite you will need to successfully complete that before you can enrol in the unit. If the unit has a co-requisite, you will need to enrol in that unit as well.
HINT: If you cannot proceed with an action scroll to the top of the page and check to see if you have an error message.

Swap units
This page will give you step by step instructions on how to swap units.
- Click on the 'Swap Unit' link on the menu on the left hand side of the screen.
- If you have more than one course listed, select the course you wish to swap units for and click on the link 'Continue with the selected course'.
- You will be taken to a page listing all units you are currently enrolled in. Select the unit you wish to swap from, and then click on the link 'Swap from the selected unit and choose a different unit to swap into'.
- If you are swapping an optional unit, you may need to select the option first and then choose your unit.
- You will then be taken to a page to search for a new unit. When you have selected the unit you wish to swap into, click on the link 'swap into the selected unit'. If there is more than one offering (attendance mode, campus etc) of this unit available, you will be asked to choose, if not you will be taken to the next page.
- You will be asked to check that you have picked the correct units to swap out of and into. If you are satisfied with your choice you can click on the link 'swap the chosen units'.
- You will see a green tick
to indicate that your action has been successful.
HINT: If a unit has a prerequisite you will need to successfully complete that before you can enrol in the unit. If the unit has a co-requisite, you will need to enrol in that unit as well.

Withdraw from units
Please note: before you withdraw from a unit, it is important you consult with a Faculty course adviser and be aware of the census date and the KN grade date. International students should consult with La Trobe International before withdrawing from any units.
This page will give you step by step instructions on how to withdraw from a unit.
- On the My Enrolment tab, click on 'Manage Enrolment' link on the left hand side menu.
- If you have more than one course listed, select the course you wish to withdraw a unit from and click on the link 'continue to next page'.
- You will be taken to a page listing all of the options and core units for the course you selected. At the bottom of the page click on the link 'withdraw from units'.
- You will be taken to a page that will list all the units you are currently enrolled in. Select the unit you wish to withdraw from by clicking in the box next to the unit. Then click on the link 'withdraw from the selected units'.
- You will be taken to a page containing information about the unit you are about to withdraw from and any consequences of withdrawal. If you wish to continue with your withdrawal click on the link 'continue with withdrawal'.
- You will be taken to a screen confirming that you have been withdrawn from your units.
HINT: If a unit you plan to withdraw from is a prerequisite to another unit, you will also need to withdraw from the other unit.
HINT: If you cannot proceed with an action scroll to the top of the page and check to see if you have an error message.
If you are having difficulties withdrawing from a unit, please contact your local Student Administration Office.
My Finances
On this page you can view your financial transaction details.
You can view details by current debt only, or by searching for all transactions within a given year.
If you would like a new Statement of Account you can click on the link 'Email my Current Statement of Account' and your current Statement of Account will be emailed to your La Trobe student email account.
If you wish to make a payment, you can click on the link 'Make a payment' on the left hand side of the screen. A new screen will open up and you can use your credit card to make a payment to the University for your fees.
Please note, it will take approximately 5 working days for any payments made using the 'Make a payment' screen to appear on your Statement of Account and on your Financial Transaction screen.
My Graduations
On this page you will be able to view the details of any approved awards (degrees) which have not yet been accepted (i.e. your graduation ceremony date has not yet passed).
If you have not yet qualified for an award, or if a ceremony has not yet been allocated for your award you will see a message that states 'you have not been granted any awards with an upcoming graduation ceremony'.
If you complete the requirements for your course in semester two, you will be advised of your ceremony details in January of the following year. If you complete the requirements for your course in semester one, you will be advised of your ceremony details early in semester two of the same year.
You will be able to see your name as it will appear on your Testamur (degree certificate) on this page. If your name is not correct, please contact your local Student Administration Office at least four weeks prior to the ceremony. For further information view 'My Personal Details' page.
My Results
On this page you can view results that have been released for your subjects.
You can choose to have an unofficial academic transcript emailed to your La Trobe student email account by clicking on the link 'Email me an unofficial academic record.'
If you would like to order an official Academic Transcript you can click on the link 'Request an official academic record' and you will be taken to another web page that will give you instructions on obtaining an official Academic Transcript.
